Meet Our Team

Dorothy Onyejiukwa

Dorothy founded AidCitzen after years of observing the deep inequalities affecting underserved communities in Nigeria and beyond. From an early age, she witnessed the impact of generosity and community support through her father’s commitment to helping others access education, supporting extended families, funding school fees for children, and creating opportunities for people within and beyond his immediate circle. These experiences shaped her understanding of compassion, responsibility, and the transformative power of practical support.

Her exposure to government and international donor-supported humanitarian programmes, including the Safe Schools Initiative, further deepened her understanding of the barriers preventing vulnerable children, especially girls, from accessing safe and quality education.

Through field visits, engagement with displaced communities, and exposure to interventions such as UNICEF-supported School-in-a-Box learning materials for children in crisis settings, Dorothy saw how education, vocational development, and community support can restore dignity and create pathways toward long-term stability.

Her vision for AidCitzen is rooted in compassion, faith, and the belief that lasting change begins with empowered communities. While AidCitzen currently focuses on underserved communities in Nigeria, its long-term vision is to expand its impact globally and support vulnerable populations wherever the need exists.
